Stockland to develop Craigie High School site

The state government has chosen property group Stockland as the preferred proponent to redevelop the former Craigie High School site.

Planning and Infrastructure minister Alannah MacTiernan said the aim was to transform the site into an appealing, distinctive residential estate, creating more housing choice while also blending in with the existing suburb.

"The state government is committed to a true partnering approach, where both parties work together to achieve a 'win-win' outcome for the Craigie community," she said.

The 10 hectare site is located about 22 kilometres north-west of the Perth CBD and is bordered by Arawa Place and Camberwarra Drive.

Calls for expressions of interest to partner LandCorp in the redevelopment of the Craigie site closed on November 27 last year with the EOI attracting a competitive field.

Stockland general manager Perth Graham McArthur said the project was an opportunity to work with the state government and the Craigie community to create a quality residential hub that would complement and support the existing community.

"Our key focus is to develop a structure plan which transforms the Craigie site into a distinctive residential estate, while making good use of the existing infrastructure, uplifting the area and protecting the nearby dunes in the overall development," Mr McArthur said.
