TWELVE years after it opened it doors for business, Worksite Fitness and Rehabilitation is considered to be one of the state’s most respected health, wellness and injury prevention programs.
Now, under sole owner Steve Gauci, WFR has developed the trademarked Healthy Lifestyle Programs for businesses wanting to provide a safe working environment, particularly from musculoskeletal injuries, which account for the majority of workplace injuries.
Under Mr Gauci’s leadership, WFR’s work at a major Pilbara mining site resulted in a 30 per cent drop in musculoskeletal injuries in 10 months.
The connections made through the mine sites have also enabled Mr Gauci to raise significant funds for charity, with WRF raising nearly $140,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation since 2007.
Looking ahead, Mr Gauci wants to increase profit three-fold in the next few years and grow his staff from 30 to 50.
