Stephen Jones

STEPHEN Jones believes success in business can only come if an individual sets goals, plans well, works hard and never waivers from their vision. At the age of 23, Mr Jones was confronted with the sudden, unexpected loss of his father and uncle, respectively managing director and manager of family business, Boucher Jones & Company. He was forced to choose between taking over the business or selling up, and with great courage chose to continue the plumbing and renovating operation. Mr Jones then embarked on the hardest 12 months of his life and the knowledge he gained in this period laid the foundation for his life in business. His companies now pro-vide hot water and trade services, in-cluding plumbing and gas fitting, to domestic and commercial markets. Alinta Assist is the only company in Australia with the exclusive rights to carry out all the trade services, including but not limited to plumbing, gas fitting, heating and hot water for major utility, Alinta Gas. Business officially started on October 1 2005 and already Alinta Assist has become the largest hot water contractor in the country. His perseverance, determination and never-give-in attitude have steadied Mr Jones through difficult times and he has learnt to listen, have confidence in his own abilities and goal set. Mr Jones surrounds himself with quality staff, who have enabled him to step back from the day-to-day running of his businesses. Mr Jones has been the vice-president of the Master Plumbers and Gas Fitters Association for the past three years and guides future policy and direction for the industry.
