TO journalists, the national conference for the Public Relations Institute of Australia would normally be something to steer well clear of. That many spin doctors in one place would make the Note feel like Luke Skywalker turning up for a planning session in the Death Star. But, you have to give those on the dark side credit for knowing their trade. Even the Note was enticed by the appearance of Alastair Campbell (pictured), the controversial behind-the-scenes player in the prime ministership of Britain’s Tony Blair. Mr Campbell will be the star act at the Fremantle conference on October 13.
