THE site of Western Australia’s first Anaconda concept store, due to open next year at Edgewater, is to be sold by Becton Investment Management as part of a previous Glenmont syndicate wind-up. Australia-wide retail chain Spotlight, which has a lease of the property until 2010, is currently renovating the single level showroom/bulky goods development ahead of the WA launch of its new concept brand Anaconda, which retails outdoor/adventure/leisure products. Selling agent Miles Rowe from Savills said the premises would be re-branded externally and internally and was expected to create significant interest in the growing market sector. The property, constructed in 1997 and with a lettable area of 2,700 square metres and 112 car-parking spaces, is leased for $321,817 a year from December 2005 and enjoys a prominent, high exposure position, fronting Joondalup Drive.
