Spotless, which foreshadowed the acquisition in its interim results in February, said the acquisition will further expand the company's service offerings through Australia and New Zealand.
Riley Shelley, which offers painting and building services throughout the country, was founded in 1996 by Ian Riley and Mike Shelley who both wanted to pursue national contracts.
Messrs Riley and Shelley will continue to manage the Riley Shelley operations for Spotless, which intends to maintain the brand.
Earlier this month, Spotless acquired one of the state's largest suppliers of commercial cleaning services, Arrix.

Spotless Group Limited today announced it had completed the acquisition of the business assets of Riley Shelley, a leading provider of painting and building refurbishment services nation-wide. The purchase, foreshadowed in the Spotless interim results announcement on 19 February 2009, further expands the Spotless suite of specialised service offerings across Australia and New Zealand.
The acquisition is a natural fit with Spotless' existing service lines enabling the company to further support clients through a comprehensive service range. Riley Shelley provides painting, essential services, building services - incorporating refurbishment/refit and corporate imaging.
According to Managing Director and CEO, Josef Farnik, Riley Shelley is a strategic investment into a new, yet complementary, service line.
"Riley Shelley enables us to offer additional services to existing and potential clients, ultimately increasing client value.
"The acquisition delivers immediate benefits; bringing a significant client base, an experienced leadership team, a talented group of employees and an extensive network of contractors into the Spotless fold," said Farnik.
Spotless intends to maintain the Riley Shelley brand, which currently services more 500 clients across education, retail, health and commercial sectors.
The addition of Riley Shelley will further consolidate Spotless' position as a leading supplier of outsourced services - which currently span facilities management, asset maintenance, food services, cleaning services, laundry and retailer services (garment hangers and packaging).
Riley Shelley was founded in 1996 through a joint venture of a Perth and Brisbane based painting businesses to pursue national contracts. The founders, Ian Riley and Mike Shelley, will work for Spotless and manage the operations of Riley Shelley - they bring to the business 20 years experience in the commercial painting industry and proven capability in paint maintenance agreements.
