Southern Coast gains high WorkSafe Award
SOUTHERN Coast Transit has become the State’s first Transperth bus operator to win a WorkSafe Gold Certificate of Achievement.
Gold Awards are presented to companies that achieve an exceptionally high standard across 50 judging criteria that covers management commitment; plans, policies and procedures; employer-employee consultation; identification systems; and safety and health training.
The company received a Silver Award in 2001.
There are three levels of achievement in the WorkSafe Plan process – Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Platinum is awarded to companies that achieve 90 per cent or more in the five elements, gold goes to those that achieve at least 75 per cent and silver goes to those gaining more than 60 per cent.
