South West forum

The Urban Development Institute of Australia is holding a forum on urban development and planning in the South West, March 30 at The Goose Restaurant in Busselton. Three speakers will discuss future directions for growth and development in a local context. Graeme Baesjou, regional development manager for the South West Development Commission, will discuss the state government’s future directions regarding strategic planning in the South West region and related issues. This will be followed by a presentation from Shire of Busselton president Cr Kevin Douglas, who will outline the shire’s future directions regarding growth and development in the shire, particularly the plan to redevelop the Busselton foreshore and jetty. Shire of Augusta-Margaret River president Cr Steve Harrison will discuss his shire’s plans for growth in the region, particularly in regards to the draft Margaret River Concept Plan.
