Smetana wins safety award

JOYCE Corporation chairman Dan Smetana has won a National Safety Council of Australia award for his contribution to occupational health and safety. Mr Smetana, who is president of North Lake-based risk management consultancy and training provider IFAP, was recognised for his contribution to occupational safety beyond his own workplace. He has served on the board of IFAP, which is a not-for-profit registered training organisation, for 17 years and is also a board member of the NSCA. Mr Smetana said IFAP was working closely with the NSCA to improve training and awareness of workplace safety.
