Almost two-thirds of small business operators now report a ‘reasonable’ understanding of the new tax, compared to 43 per cent in November 1999.
More than 75 per cent had registered for GST and obtained an Australian Business Number.
A further 15 per cent and 16 per cent respectively had indicated they intended to register for the GST or obtain an ABN by 1 July.
