REGIONAL airline Skywest has announced a 50 per cent increase in net profit after tax for the year to June 30, to $1.03 million. Revenue from ordinary activities increased 43 per cent compared with the previous year to $73.3 million, Skywest reported to the market. The airline declared a final dividend of 0.68 cents per share, to be paid on September 16. Skywest chairman Jeff Chatfield said the profit outcome was "an excellent result for the company in a competitive environment, with high fuel prices". The WA government recently announced that Skywest had won the tender for the operation of air services in the coastal network of the state.
