AIRLINE Skywest has released one of the most bizarre announcements to ever make it to the Australian Stock Exchange. A hitherto unknown Queensland company called Ansett Industries Ltd, based in the well-known commercial hub of South Townsville, said it planned to make a takeover bid for Skywest’s parent company, Advent Air. Ansett didn’t bother providing any further details and could not been contacted for comment. Skywest chairman Jeff Chatfield said matter-of-factly that he had been "unable to verify the corporate existence of the writer of the letter" and was unable to determine the legitimacy of the writer’s intentions.
