Plans for a six-storey, $4.5 million office development at the old Stockade Building on the corner of Barrack and Wellington streets have been approved by the City of Perth.

The development will comprise more than 1,900sqm of office space, and include four commercial tenancies facing Barrack Street, as well as a larger commercial space facing Wellington Street and also linking to Grand Lane.

The City of Perth said the commercial space would be well suited to retail or hospitality tenancies.

The front portion of the existing two-storey building at the site will be retained, with the upper floors set back from the building’s frontages to give prominence to the original facades.

The proposal has been put forward by Palassis Architects.
