Perth-founded stock investing platform Simply Wall St is branching out into the US with the acquisition of Capp.io for an undisclosed sum.

Under the agreement, Atlanda-based startup Capp.io, which analyses data on US stocks, will transfer its assets including user base and intellectual property to Simply Wall St, with new users to be redirected to Simply Wall St’s website.

Simply Wall St founder and chief executive Al Bentley said the acquisition will allow the company to strengthen its presence on the US market where the majority of its customers are already based.

“The Capp.io team shares our mission and values to make investing simple for the self-directed retail investor,” Mr Bentley said.

“We have been watching them for a while, met up with them in person and are happy to act on this opportunity.”

Simply Wall St uses innovative graphic displays to show the health and ‘investability’ of public companies in the US, UK and Australia.
