Signature Metals has passed a significant milestone in the development of its Konongo gold mine in Ghana, with first gold being poured today.
Signature's stock has surged 10 per cent on the news, trading at 2.2 cents at 11:50AM (WST).
The first gold bars were poured as part of final commissioning of the elution circuit and gold room.
Signature said its focus would now be on ramping up to move into continuous commercial production.
The company aims to achieve throughput of 350,000 tonnes per annum for its processing plant.
"To be pouring gold within two years of commencing work at Konongo is a fantastic achievement," managing director Bill Oliver said in a statement.
