FORM has appointed board director Tim Shanahan as chair, replacing Paul Chamberlain who served in the role for eight years.

It is the second major leadership change at the organisation in recent months, after Lynda Dorrington left as chief executive in June after two decades at the helm.

Mr Shanahan is the chair of Australian information technology group Zetta and Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre and a director of the Committee for Perth.

He was previously the chair of WA Super, University of Western Australia energy and minerals institute director and chief executive at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy.

Mr Shanahan said FORM had a track record of success and played an important role in promoting creativity.

“It has a deep capacity to connect with communities, to draw out and represent powerful insights about how we feel about ourselves and how we live together,” Mr Shanahan said.

FORM chief executive Tabitha McMullan said Mr Chamberlain and Ms Dorrington had left a legacy at the organisation.

“We are indebted to and grateful for the contribution and support they have provided over the years,” Ms McMullan said.

“Paul has made an invaluable contribution to FORM, both as Chairman and as an advocate of the organisation.”

Outgoing chair Paul Chamberlain said he had worked with the board to ensure FORM was a forward-thinking organisation with a viable future.

“Now it is time for a new team to continue the great work and to take FORM to the next level,” Mr Chamberlain said.
