THE Australian media industry is eagerly awaiting the outcome of the Seven Network’s $1 billion damages case against News Corporation, Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, Telstra, Foxtel and others, under way in the Federal Court in Sydney this week.Seven is suing the media players over the closure of its pay television channel C7 in 2002. The case has the potential to restructure the media industry should it result in a break-up of Foxtel.
