The Federal Magistrates Court has appointed a bankruptcy trustee to the affairs of household removalist Ronald Neil Dods, following an ASIC application. ASIC said Mr Dods had failed to comply with September 2001 Federal Court orders that required him to pay $15,000 in compensation to three clients whose goods were damaged in transit. These clients could not claim their insurance as Mr Dods had failed to arrange the policies he had promised them. Mr Dods had also failed to come to any satisfactory arrangement with ASIC to compensate the clients. ASIC said Mr Dods traded under names which included Universal Moving 2000 and Mandurah Removals 2000, and advertised under All Austwide Backloads.
