FREIGHT forwarding company Sea Transport Management (WA) has merged its operations with national company Paccon Logistics, after Seatram’s founding directors acquired a minority shareholding in Paccon.
Mark Patterson and Ted Del Borrello have acquired 20 per cent of Paccon, which has a network of offices in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and South Africa.
Mr Del Borrello said the two companies had been working together for the past year, after Seatram bought one of the innovative Tynecat loading systems developed by Paccon.
The merger, which takes effect this week, will complete Paccon’s national coverage of Australia’s major ports.
Mr Del Borrello said the relationship would be further enhanced by Italian company Seatram srl appointing Paccon as its agent in Sydney and Melbourne.
Seatram srl had been one of the founding shareholders of Seatram (WA) but was later bought out by Mr Patterson and Mr Del Borrello.
Seatram (WA) has 18 staff in WA and is one of several mid-sized firms in the international freight forwarding market.
