The board of Scotgold Resources is facing a shake-up after a major shareholder requested that all directors be removed.

The removal request comes from 5 per cent shareholder Shane Sadlier, who is seeking to appoint himself, Stephen Brockhurst and Gary Lewis as directors.

Mr Sadlier is calling for the removal of non-executive chairman John Bentley, chief executive Christopher Sangster and directors Phillip Jackson and Edmond Edwards.

In a brief statement, the company said it will consider the requisition for a shareholder meeting at an upcoming board meeting.

Scotgold is developing the Cononish gold and silver project in the United Kingdom, which has a capital cost of $27 million.
