Salta Constructions has terminated its lead builders' contract at Raine Square, claiming Saracen Properties has not attempted to resolve the dispute.
The Raine Square site has been shutdown for over a fortnight, after Salta ordered its workers off the job, citing a dispute over variations to the builders' contract.
In a statement issued today, Salta said it saw no alternative to terminating the contract.
"Luke Saraceni has not contacted Salta in an attempt to resolve the dispute at Raine Square since work on the site was suspended more than two weeks ago," the statement said.
"It has always been, and remains, Salta's wish to complete the project, and Salta has put a further offer for the way forward to Saraceni."
Saracen Properties managing director Luke Saraceni told WA Business News yesterday he was committed to resolving the dispute and negotiations were ongoing.
Mr Saraceni is also understood to have interviewed a number of builders and will make a decision on the replacement in coming weeks.
More to come...
