Sale opens new doors in WA

THE WA roller door market is set for a shake-up following the sale of 50 per cent of Perth-based TG Doors to Adelaide company Gliderol Garage Doors.

The sale will see increased manufacturing and distribution of Gliderol products in WA, while reinforcing the company’s position in national and international markets.

The merged company, named Gliderol TG, will manufacture the entire range of Gliderol branded products, including roller doors, sectional overhead doors and tilt doors, as well as all automatic openers.

TG Doors was founded in 1991 by Peter O’Loughlin and Ron Moller after initially being called TG Sheetmetal.

Gliderol Garage Doors general manager Ben Lumbers said his

company planned to access its pool of specialised machinery across Australia to expand its WA client base.

“With the body of construction work being undertaken in WA there is constant demand for garage roller doors, and Gliderol TG aims to make the most of this,” Mr Lumbers said.

The news coincided with a multi-million dollar licensing agreement with English company PC Henderson which will allow Gliderol to expand its European operations.

The company has an annual turnover of around $40 million, employs more than 200 staff across Australia and owns and operates plants in the UK and China.
