Local contractor SRG has picked up another contract for work on a dam in Queensland which is owned and operated by SunWater.

SRG has received a $15 million contract to provide improvement work on the Fairbairn Dam, which is Queensland’s second largest water storage facility.

The scope of work involves improvements to the dam chute slab, upgrades to the under-drainage system, installation of ground anchors, and construction of reinforced concrete overlay slab.

It follows news earlier this week that the company had been awarded a $6.3 million contract to provide construction work to the SunWater-operated Paradise Dam, also in Queensland.

“We are very pleased to be awarded this additional contract and look forward to working closely with the SunWater team to deliver a successful outcome,” SRG managing director David Macgeorge said.

Construction will begin next month, with completion expected in November.

SRG shares were unchanged at 73.5 cents each at 11:30am.
