SRG wins $18m Super Pit contract

SRG Global has secured an $18 million contract with Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines, less than a week after it announced it won up to $115 million worth of drill-and-blast services contract extensions with Evolution Mining.

The scope of works for the five-year contract includes the provision of geotechnical ground support services.

This includes in-phase ground support, rock fall mitigation, and rock face remediation.

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) is a 50-50 joint venture between Newmont Mining and Barrick Gold that operates the Kalgoorlie Super Pit gold mine.

KCGM awarded the ground support works to SRG Global’s geotech business, which has been performing a range of services at the mine since 1997.

SRG Global managing director David Macgeorge said the contractor had a long history performing ground support works at the Kalgoorlie Super Pit.

“We are very pleased to be awarded this contract and will continue to work closely with KCGM to deliver a strong result,” he said.

On Friday, the company said it received an initial three-year term contract extension with Evolution for work at several of its gold mines in Australia, as well as an option to extend for a further two years.

In a statement, SRG Global said the three-year contract would produce revenue of around $78 million, and the two-year extension would increase the total contract value to approximately $115 million.

Shares in SRG Global were flat at 36 cents each at 12pm AEDT.
