National waste recovery firm SITA Australia has acquired Kalgoorlie-based industrial and waste services business MAILS for an undisclosed sum.
MAILS’ business operations are predominantly focused on Goldfields-area gold mines, with the company’s services including industrial cleaning as well as the collection, transportation and disposal of liquid waste.
All 15 of MAILS’ employees will join SITA, while founding shareholder Graham Lynch will also remain with the business.
MAILS’ other founding shareholder, Dave Hughes, will retire.
SITA general manager for WA Nial Stock said the combination of the two companies would boost its integrated service offering to mining companies in the Goldfields.
“SITA already provides waste management services to a wide variety of mining operations in Western Australia and together with the local MAILS team we plan to invest in, grow and develop the company’s existing operations to deliver integrated services for our customers,” Mr Stock said.
