SCEE wins more Rio works

Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has secured another two contracts with mining giant Rio Tinto, taking the total value of work it has secured at Rio projects this year to $100 million.

SCEE said it had been tasked with replacing and refurbishing electrical equipment at Cape Lambert and East Intercourse Island, with the two contracts worth a combined $10 million.

The contract is scheduled to commence immediately and be completed over a 12-month period.

SCEE last month added a further $40 million to its electrical and instrumentation works at Rio's Cape Lambert Port B project, taking the value of work at the project to $80 million.

It also secured $10 million worth of works at Rio's Nammuldi below water table project in January.

The company's shares were trading one cent higher at 77 cents at 11:00am WST.
