Southern Cross Electrical Engineering has struck a three-year services agreement worth $20 million with Queensland utility Egon Energy.

The work will be delivered from SCEE’s regional facility in Townsville.

The company will provide asset inspection and maintenance services on Ergon’s electricity distribution network in north Queensland, including overhead lines and streetlight poles.

Managing director Graeme Dunn said the contract was another significant step in the group’s diversification strategy.

“SCEE has a longstanding presence and operations in Queensland and the award of this three year agreement provides a platform to further grow our local workforce,” Mr Dunn said in a statement.
