BARTERCARD has produced a number of tips to help make the most of the trade system.
Firstly, members should read the national directory. They should also ensure they use it.
They should be courteous to fellow members and abide by the Bartercard rules and regulations.
Members need to know their responsibilities as both a customer and a merchant.
They should also follow up on all sales. This is just as vital in the barter world as it is in the cash one.
Members should try and attend all trade functions in their region. Bartercard is, after all, a network.
They should also keep in touch with their trade coordinator or visit their brokerage to keep abreast of all the latest trading news.
Of course, before signing a cheque, members should try and see if they can trade for the product instead.
They should also give their brokerage referrals of businesses with which they would like to trade.
Above all else – think trade!
