ENGINEERING, environment and management company GHD has appointed Neil Rowlands to lead its energy division.
The firm, which is already active in WA’s energy market, plans to expand its energy services worldwide.
Mr Rowlands will be responsible for business development and building alliances.
The firm has been more involved with the electricity generation side of the business, but is planning to expand into gas pipeline engineering.
It supplied engineering and contract management services on the $150 million BP cogeneration plant at Kwinana.
Mr Rowlands said the firm had traditionally been involved in pipeline route selections and hydrographic surveying but it would expand into pipeline engineering.
GHD recently appointed Stuart Kamper to strengthen its push in that area.
“We expect energy business revenues to grow four-fold over the next five years built around power generation and delivery, gas transportation and hydrocarbon processing projects,” Mr Rowlands said.
“We see the opportunties before us.”
Mr Rowlands has been in the energy business most of his working life.
He has been with GHD for the past 23 years and had an energy-related role with CSR prior to that.
