Aqua Technics has installed a free-standing composite pool on the roof of the Park Regis Hotel in Subiaco, saying this technique delivered big time savings for Cooper & Oxley Builders.
Aqua Technics, a subsidiary of Aquatic Leisure Technologies, said today the custom-designed composite fibreglass pool was lifted nine storeys to be fitted onto the roof.
The pool is 11 metres long and 3.6m wide, with a depth of 1.4m.
“We have been working with our internal engineers and commercial projects team to design a pool that would be a fully self-supporting structure while maintaining a modern, sleek design,” Aqua Technics commercial business development manager Darren Godden said.
“The result is an innovative 11-metre commercial composite fibreglass swimming pool with contemporary mosaic waterline tiling, providing an uninterrupted swimming area overlooking Perth’s skyline.”
He said the pool was installed in a few days, compared with the three months required on site for conventional concrete pools.
The Park Regis Hotel is expected to be completed later in the year.
