SWITCHING from a career in science to a career in retail has helped win Kirrily Van Reil the Young Retailer of the Year Award.
The award was announced at a gala dinner held at the Hyatt Hotel recently.
Ms Van Reil completed a science degree at the University of WA but chose to work in retail.
She said she liked the variety, pace, people and the rewards of working in the industry.
Ms Van Reil is now a business manager with Myer Stores.
The Young Retailer of the Year Award is a major component of the Retail Traders’ Association’s commitment to building the community’s awareness of the scope, diversity and quality of career opportunities in the retail sector.
Ms Van Reil will now represent WA in the Australian Young Retailer of the Year Award.
