Aboriginal Fishing Strategy
Public comment is invited on a draft Aboriginal fishing strategy addressing the recognition and inclusion of customary fishing in fisheries legislation; the recognition and inclusion of Aboriginal people in the management of fish resources; and economic development opportunities in the fishing and aquaculture industries.
The submissions period closes August 29.
The Western Australian Aboriginal Native Title Working Group will receive funding from the Development and Better Interest Fund to develop its response to the draft strategy.

Public comment is invited on a draft WA aquaculture industry strategy, to form the basis of a five-year development plan.

Busselton wetlands
The public submissions period for a draft conservation strategy for the Busselton wetlands will close July 4.
The strategy is available from www.planning.wa.gov.au, the Western Australian Planning Commission in Bunbury, the Department of Conservation and Land Management in Busselton, and the GeoCatch Network Centre in Busselton.

Public comment is invited on the WA Government’s draft wilderness policy.

Leighton development draft
Public comment is invited until September 8 on a draft plan for redeveloping a four-hectare section of the 17-hectare Leighton marshalling yards.
The draft proposes residential areas, shops, cafes and public open space, with the remaining 13 hectares of the marshalling yards site becoming a coastal reserve.
This plan is on display at the City of Fremantle, William Street Fremantle; the Town of Mosman Park, Memorial Park, Bayview Terrace; and the Leighton Information Centre at Shop 13, Queensgate Mall, William Street, Fremantle.

National Environment Protection (Air Toxics) Measure
Public comment is invited on draft National Environment Protection (Air Toxics) Measure and associated Air Toxics Impact Statement.
This measure aims to provide a nationally consistent framework for the monitoring and reporting of five key air toxics - benzene, formaldehyde, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), toluene and xylenes.
The measure and impact statement are available from www.ephc.gov.au and submissions are due by July 30.
Privacy laws
The State Government has released a public discussion paper outlining key privacy law proposals.

Sunset Hospital redevelopment plan
Public comment is invited on a community plan for the future redevelopment of the 8.2 hectare Sunset Hospital site in Dalkeith.
The plan, deemed the Sunset Community Village Concept, recommends up to 82 per cent of the land remains in public ownership, with many of the heritage buildings identified for possible community use.
Copies of the concept plan are available from metropolitan local government authorities.
The plan will also be on display at the City of Nedlands Council library and the State Library of WA.

The public comment period closes July 17.
Sunset Hospital will be one hundred years old next year.
Warren-Blackwood Rural Strategy
A draft Warren-Blackwood Rural planning strategy has been released for public comment until June 27.
The strategy covers 1.4 million hectares in the shires of Boyup Brook, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Manjimup and Nannup.
