Car rental review
The WA Government is inviting comment on the car rental industry, as part of a national regulatory review.

Commercial Retail Tenancy
The WA Government is inviting public comment on a report into the Commercial Retail Tenancy (Retail Shops) Agreements Act.
The report – a follow-up to an October 2002 issues paper - includes 61 recommendations on issues such as the applicability and operation of the Act, disclosure, dispute resolution and fair dealing between landlords and tenants.

Fitness code of practice
The State Government and industry body Fitness WA plan to establish an industry code of practice.
Submissions in response to a discussion paper towards this end are invited until April 30.

Fremantle Eastern Bypass
The public submissions period on the proposal to delete the Fremantle Eastern Bypass from the Metropolitan Region Scheme has been extended until April 7, following the release of a Western Australian Planning Commission comparative assessment of the bypass and preferred alternative.
The assessment documents – four technical reports and a summary report – are available from www.planning.wa.gov.au and the Department for Planning and Infrastructure at 469 Wellington St, Perth.
They are also available for viewing at council offices and southern metropolitan public libraries.
The WA Government has released for public comment the Western Australian Charter of Multiculturalism.
Copies of the charter, and also the 2003 Multicultural Services Directory, are available from www.omi.wa.gov.au.
Regional development indicators
The 'Indicators of Regional Development in WA Report', released by the WA Government, has been prepared by consultants URS Australia.

Retail trading hours
Ahead of a mid-year deadline to justify WA retail trading hours arrangements to the National Competition Council, the WA Government has released a discussion paper on retail trading hours.
This paper considers a number of options, including having no trading hour restrictions and abolishing Thursday night or Sunday trading.

Rottnest Island Management Plan 2003-08
This five-year plan, based on 700 submissions, is aimed at making ‘Rotto’ more profitable.
It includes visitor services and facilities, recreational fishing, marine management, and environment and heritage conservation.

The WA Government has released for public comment the report of a review of telecommunications in the south west of WA.
The report - 'Connecting the South-West Telecommunications Infrastructure and Opportunity Study' - was prepared by Gibson Quai Pty Ltd.
It is available from swdc.wa.gov.au and the South West Development Commission office at 61 Victoria St Bunbury.

State Sustainability Strategy
The public comment period for the 236-page draft strategy has been extended until April 30.

Warren-Blackwood Rural Strategy
A draft Warren-Blackwood Rural planning strategy has been released for public comment until June 27.
The strategy covers 1.4 million hectares in the shires of Boyup Brook, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Manjimup and Nannup.
