The Australian Institute of Energy is holding a Regulatory Update with guest speaker Jackson McDonald partner Matthew Bowen on Wednesday September 1 at the Parmelia Hilton.
Mr Bowen was appointed managing partner at Jackson McDonald in 1998, he specialises in energy law and his list of clients include Western Power, Alinta and the State Government.
Mr Bowen will present an overview of the regulatory developments in the Western Australian energy market
The seminar will be broken down into two segments one reviewing gas, the other electricity.
The presentation on gas will address the Productivity Commission’s recently published review of the Gas Access Regime, recent developments in revocation of coverage, the opening of the FRC markets in WA and SA and the new national regulatory structures.
Referring to electricity Mr Bowen will outline the main elements of the Electricity Industry Act 2004 including the new licensing regime, the new Networks Access Code and the wholesale market rules including the new Top UP and Spill Rules.
