Wayne Cattach and his team at Traxon Industries in Bunbury wre the big winners, taking out the category for Best Business with 10 - 20 employees, as well as the overall Award for "2008 GWN Western Australian Regional Small Business of the Year".
The WA Business News, Business with 5-10 employees award went to Merrill and Steve Dalgleish from Dalgleish Catering in Geraldton.
Commerce Minister said the contribution made by small business operators to the economic and social wellbeing of regional Western Australia should not be underestimated.

2008 GWN Western Australian Regional Small Business Award winners announced tonight
Wayne Cattach and his team at Traxon Industries Pty Ltd., Bunbury were the big winners of this year's GWN Western Australian Regional Small Business Awards, held in Perth tonight.
Traxon Industries won the category for Best Business with 10 - 20 employees as well as the overall Award for "2008 GWN Western Australian Regional Small Business of the Year".
Minister for Commerce, Hon. Troy Buswell who presented the Awards, said the contribution made by small business operators to the economic and social wellbeing of regional Western Australia should not be underestimated.
"These awards are a fitting tribute to the sector and highlight the innovations and achievements of small business owners in regional WA," Minister Buswell said.
"With over 97 per cent of all businesses in Western Australia being small business, and a quarter of those being regionally based, this is an important group within our State."
The 2008 GWN Western Australian Regional Small Business Awards, hosted by the Small Business Development Corporation, is the most prestigious Awards program held solely for regional businesses and this year drew finalists from as far as Karratha in the north and Albany in the south.
This is the sixth year of the Awards, with 22 finalists travelling from Albany, Bunbury, Dunsborough, Mandurah, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie and Karratha.
