Regional communication lines open

WA communications group BinCom Satellite Systems is about to fill the gap created by declining communications services to regional Australia with new technology.

The company is on track to have the first stage of its advanced satellite-based communications system rolled out. BinCom is also planning to undertake an Initial Public Offering within the next few months.

The company has commenced development of a communications system using VSAT technology that will focus primarily on regional and remote areas of Australia.

BinCom managing director Brenton Woods said the network being developed would provide rapid deployment of voice, data and video between an almost unlimited number of geographically dispersed sites.

The company will initially be chasing the resources and industrial sectors in regional towns, Aboriginal communities and hospitals.
