A builder has flagged a new multi-million-dollar development in East Perth, after apartment projects on the site fell through.
The City of Perth recently received an application for an eight-storey development comprising 13 apartments, on 16 Wickham Street in East Perth.
The project is estimated to cost $6 million, according to a Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage document.
Developer Arcus started construction for a 17-apartment development, known as Eastside on Wickham, in mid-2016.
However, the development became known as The Wickham Residence by 2019 with the project's website describing it as 22 architecturally designed boutique residences.
By mid-2023, Mark Hay Real Estate listed the 607 square metre-East Perth site back on the market.
According to the advertisement, significant site works were already completed on the site, which still had the development application approval attached.
A building permit on the site has lapsed by mid-2023, the ad shows.
Kevin Lynch Developments bought the site from Kaldana Investments for $1.65 million in 2025, according to RP data.
The company’s director, registered builder Kevin Lynch, told Business News the plan was redesigned to cater to families.
Mr Lynch said the project was redesigned from one- and two-bedroom apartments to offer mostly two- and three-bedroom dwellings.
“We’re looking to start construction, if all’s going well, towards the end of next year,” he said.
Mr Lynch projected construction to take 18 months.
Realmark and Limnios Property Group were attached to The Wickham Residence project, with the latter also involved in the Eastside on Wickham development.
