University of Western Australia professor Mark Randolph has been appointed to the newly created role of Fugro chair in geotechnics at UWA’s Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems.

University of Western Australia professor Mark Randolph has been appointed to the newly created role of Fugro chair in geotechnics at UWA’s Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems.

Geotechnical, survey, subsea and geosciences services company Fugro agreed to fund the creation of the position with the aim to develop a sustainable research group, which will be significant in the company’s activities worldwide and will support the wider geotechnical community.

Professor Randolph is a fellow of the Royal Society (UK) and was named Western Australia’s Scientist of the Year in 2013.

He founded the COFS in 1997.
