GLOBAL management consultancy Bain & Co will officially start operating in Perth next month, with PwC partner Robert Radley confirming he will be joining the new business.
Bain plans to kick-start its local presence with three partners, joining its international top tier rival Boston Consulting Group, which opened a Perth office last year.
The presence of global players in the WA professional services sector has increased in the past year. Investment bank Lazard recently announced a 41 per cent stake in Perth-based oil and gas consultancy RISC, while major UK law firms Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance have both started operations here.
It is understood existing Bain & Co partners, Stuart Love and Brian Murphy, both originally from Western Australia, will join Mr Radley.
Mr Love will come from the group’s London office and Mr Murphy will return to Perth from Sydney.
Mr Radley and Mr Love were both formerly with GEM Consulting, a WA business, which PwC bought when it decided to get back into management consulting.
Mr Love left GEM around the time of the PwC acquisition to return to Bain’s UK private equity practice, while Mr Radley stayed on to make the accounting firm a major player in the management consulting scene in Perth.
Mr Murphy is a mathematics Phd who joined Bain in 1999.
