Perth-headquartered RCR Tomlinson Ltd was secured a mechanical works and warehouse services contract for Woodside's Pluto liquefied natural gas project, valued at over $60 million.
The contract will be carried out by RCRFM Services, a 50/50 joint venture between RCR and Debin Pty Ltd trading as Freo Machinery.
Together with previously announced work and other smaller contracts, RCR's present project order book now stands at a record $240 million.
Work is due to begin in November 2008 and continue to December 2010.
Expected to produce first gas in late 2010, the $12 billion Pluto LNG Project on the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia is set to become Australia's second biggest resources project.
RCR Chief Executive Officer, Mr John Noordhoek, said that the contract award was a significant result for RCR.
"This win is a great outcome for RCR's Construction and Maintenance unit and a credit to our team," said Mr Noordhoek.
"It is particularly pleasing that we have been able to expand our client base into the oil and gas sector, building upon our expertise and reputation for excellence in the resources sector. We look forward to continuing to grow our presence in the sector."
