Engineering firm RCR Tomlinson has won a $30 million contract to provide design and manufacturing works for BHP Billiton Iron Ore's Yarnima power station in Newman.
Perth-based RCR announced today that work would commence immediately to manufacture three Heat Recovery Steam Generators and associated equipment for the power station, which is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2013.
Managing director Paul Dalgleish said the contract was the first major power generation deal won by the company since its acquisition of AE&E Australia in May last year.
“It’s good to get this project into our energy division following the acquisition so we can continue to develop the team and reinvigorate client relationships,” Dr Dalgleish said in a statement.
At 10:00AM WST RCR Tomlinson shares had gained 0.6 per cent, to trade at $1.60.
