Qantas to add summer holiday flights

Qantas will operate an additional 140 international flights from Brisbane, Sydney and Perth airports during the upcoming summer holiday season, including offering daily flights between the Western Australian capital and Singapore.

To cater for strong demand during the summer holidays, Qantas will add an extra 95 return services to New Zealand, in addition to 15 seasonal services from Sydney to Christchurch and Queenstown.

It includes 48 return services between Brisbane and Christchurch and 36 return services between Brisbane and Wellington from December to February.

From November 30 to February 21, Qantas will also operate a daily service from Perth to Singapore to give customers more choice when flying between the two cities.

It will also be adding a fifth weekly service between Sydney and Jakarta between the first week of December and January 10.

“Our additional services to Singapore and Jakarta are good news for customers travelling to destinations across Asia, with the daily frequency between Perth and Singapore over the holidays confirming that our decision to return to this route was the right one,” Qantas executive manager international sales Stephen Thompson said.

“A key part of our strategy is listening to and responding to our customers’ needs and developing an agile and flexible network which offers more options during peak periods.”

Qantas shares closed 2.8 per cent lower to $3.76 each.
