WITH office space on Perth’s fringe in high demand, QUBE Property Group has acquired a 4,000 square metre site in Daly Street Ascot, with a view to redeveloping for office accommodation. QUBE is planning to build a new office complex of between 6,000sqm and 7,000sqm of space and more than 220 car bays, to replace an ageing commercial property on the site. QUBE director of acquisitions, James Collis, said Ascot was an emerging office precinct, and the Ascot project would be a landmark building at the western gateway to the City of Belmont. “The commercial property market is stretched to the limit in Perth at the moment with office space attracting record rental prices,” he said. “Our new building will be a very attractive alternative by way of rental rates, car bays, building design and amenity to the traditional office locations of West Perth and the City.” Jones Lang Lasalle and CB Richard Ellis will undertake the leasing. Rents are expected to start from $350/sqm. Early next year, QUBE also expects to have its 1,400sqm commercial and retail premises fronting Scarborough Beach Road available for sale and lease.
