PwC acquires Mainsheet Corporate

PricewaterhouseCoopers has acquired Mainsheet Corporate, its second acquisition in the corporate consulting sector in less than two years.

In late 2007, PwC acquired GEM Consulting, which was founded in 1996 by several partners, including John Poynton and Mark Barnaba.

We are delighted to inform you that Mainsheet Corporate has been acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia (PwC). We are very excited about merging with PwC and are confident that this will deliver positive benefits for both our clients and our staff.

Over the past few years Mainsheet has developed a sophisticated set of services in the areas of portfolio strategy, value-based management (VBM), and operational performance improvement all tailored to complex and asset intensive industries.

PwC has a stated objective of developing a new leading "Tier 1 business consulting and transformational offering" for its clients. Strategy and operational performance improvement capabilities are critical building blocks of this offering and the acquisition of Mainsheet, in conjunction with PwC's existing capabilities will form the foundations PwC's new Tier 1 offering.

Combining with PwC will strengthen and broaden Mainsheet's traditional capabilities, add a number of complementary specialist transformation and advisory services and provide a much deeper implementation capability.

From within PwC, the former Mainsheet team will continue to offer clients the same high quality strategic, operational and transactional advice we have traditionally provided but with additional specialist support. For Mainsheet's staff the PwC acquisition will mean international career options, more diverse work opportunities and the ability to take advantage of the development programs provided by PWC.
