EVER wanted to get behind the wheel of a Formula One racing car?
Ever fancied yourself as a pilot in a Russian fighter jet?
Than perhaps The Adrenalin Club, a new adventure club soon to set up shop in Perth, is for you.
Founded by Brett Kennedy and Phil James, The Adrenalin Club has been operating on the east coast since 1993 and specialises in organising hair-raising adventures at discount prices for club members.
The club has grown to be Australia’s biggest adventure club and operates up to 40 different activities around the country each weekend.
Mr Kennedy has been holding market research in Perth for the past two years and plans to introduce Western Australians to the club in coming months.
The club’s origins started in the corporate sector, with Mr Kennedy and Mr James organising outdoor adven-tures for workplaces.
“But we found people were asking where they could do this kind of activity on a regular basis,” Mr Kennedy said.
“We do all the legwork, we research all the local operators to find out who has the best equipment and the best people.”
He said the club, which already had links to 120 adventure activity companies throughout Australia, would establish strong working relationships with Perth tour operators.
Mr Kennedy said the some of the more popular activities among club members were abseiling, white-water rafting, rock climbing and skydiving.
“But our members have also been scuba diving and mountain biking, flown helicopters, and tried their hand at aerobatics planes,” he said.
“We have also taken some of our members to France to drive the F1 cars and later this year some will have the chance to fly a Russian fighter jet.
“The Adrenalin Club is for people who want to try something different … there is some degree of risk involved in the activities … but it is serious fun, a bit of adventure and action.”
