Property investors deterred by prices

A SURVEY by BankWest and the Mortgage Industry Association has found more property investors are discouraged by high real estate prices than rising interest rates. Only nine per cent of investors surveyed planned to invest in property in the next six months, while 37 per cent claimed to be deterred by high prices, compared to 16 per cent citing interest rates. The survey showed a further rate rise of 0.5 per cent would impact more homeowners than investors.
