THE Applied Innovation Centre works with organisations to develop a holistic approach to enable them to become leaders in innovation as a means to improving competitiveness, efficiency, growth, effectiveness and profits. Established in 2003 and currently run by managing director Sebastian Salicru together with directors Peter Newman and Philip Glew, Applied Innovation Centre is ranked as the number 15 management consultancy firm in WA, according to the 2006 WA Business News Book of Lists. The Applied Innovation Centre created the ‘business creativity and innovation framework’ and provides advice and services to clients seeking to improve organisational innovation. The centre specialises in innovation strategy and planning and has recently published a guide to the practical implementation of innovation in organisations. AIC has provided services to a broad range of public and private sector clients in the past year including Fisheries, Wesfarmers, Main Roads, FESA, Fremantle Ports, Water Corporation, and Curtin University.
