ONE of the few remaining tourism development sites in the Yallingup beach area is up for sale by public tender, sparking a great deal of interest from local and overseas buyers. Over 20 years, Yallingup has proved to be one of the most attractive investment destinations for holiday home buyers. Investors in the latest offering have the option of buying the entire 4,541 square metre parcel of land, which sits on lots 2, 3 and 4 Elsegood Avenue and Lots 1 and 22 Dawson Ave Yallingup, or in individual lots. The site is currently home to six individual holiday units and two houses, and is located only 150 metres from Yallingup Beach. The owners bought the land in 1979, and are now looking to re-locate after the land was re-zoned from residential to tourism. Dunsborough real estate agent Nicole Brearley of JMW Real Estate said most offers for the highly sought-after land package had been for the whole site, which she believes is the best tourist development site in the region to be offered for sale in recent years. The tender closes on Monday May 14, with the successful tender notified one week later. -Janelle Macri
