Pressure grows on AWB head

Australian Wheat Board has come out in support of its embattled managing director Andrew Lindberg amidst mounting calls for his resignation over the United Nations oil-for-food scandal.The AWB board said it maintained full confidence in Mr Lindberg, a comment endorsed by chairman Brendan Stewart.Mr Lindberg has been put under immense pressure during his time before the Cole inquiry, with evidence suggesting senior executives knew about illegal kickbacks it was paying in Iraq.
