Poynton gains bond trade alliance

THROUGH an alliance with the Royal Bank of Canada, WA-based stock broker Hartley Poynton Limited can now trade in AA+ and AAA-rated government and private bonds from amounts as little as $25,000.

It can also access wholesale term deposit rates from institutions for investments of $50,000 and above, offering between 0.5 per cent and 1 per cent above the normal trading rate.

HPL investment adviser Ross Fawell said government and private bonds offered greater security with a higher yield, making them extremely attractive to self-managed superannuation funds and trusts.
